I live out of town a ways, and there is no gym near my house or my place of work. So i've been relegated to getting a gym at home. I dont want to get any cheap Canadian Tire equiptment, so I'm wondering where I can get some decently priced equiptment? I tried looking through the Bargain Finder, but most of it is garbage, or WAY to much ($2000+). I want an adjustable bench, and a machine on which to do lats, etc...

Try Fitsystems on Fairmount Drive SE. My family just bought an eliptical, got a good deal and was delivered less than 48 hours after purchase! (just yesterday!!!) Ask for Scott.. Seems like a good guy!!

I don't know what you mean by cheap from Canadian Tire. I bought quite a bit of equipment and through consistant use have never had a problem there.

I bought this bench:

Complete with 7 exercises, and it has been the route of my workouts since I got it:thumbsup:

I bought this punching bag:

It has been an awesome addition to my routines as well.

I have also bought all of my weight plates, grip squeeze things, and bars from Canadian Tire.

All this stuff has been top notch for me and I would highly recommend it.

I guess I meant I wanted Olympic Bars... thus they are thicker. Anyhow, Thanks for your guys help. After working out a budget for how much everything will probably cost me to buy... I might just have to make the "trip" to a gym afterall.

Anyone here workout at Cardell (sp?) Place, or the Crowfoot YMCA?

I got mine from the Bargain Finder.

Powertec incline/decline/flat bench with leg attachment and Squat Rack and ~300lbs of Olympic weight for 375.

Rack is rated for 1000lbs, bench for 600lbs - 3" square tubing. Definetely not the stuff they have at Canadian Tire :)

Just keep your eyes open - it'll come.

Dont get all that fancy stuff.. just stick with an
adjustable Bench,
squat Rack, 2 dumbells, 1 Barbell (should come with bench)
and of course metal wieghts.. dont get the old school sand one.

check out Bargainfinder thats where I got my first set from like 4 years ago
