I think the interior is ok, but this is what the Charger should have been...

Is that based on any M-B platform?

/////AMG

EDIT: All it says is "Dodge Viper-based chassis"
nothing else, as of now.

Could be the other way around where a future M-B car will be based on the Firepower.

What a gorgeous car. Hope it makes it to production.

not really different market groups
this is meant to compete with the (big C) Corvette

charger name does not inspire image of a corvette type sports car

Charger R/T, the original Hemi-powered beast. Chrysler is trying to bring it back as a Dodge-labelled 300C... the 300C is a great car, but that's just a crime to the Charger name.

I agree that the new Charger is just a Dodge badged 300C with the base engine deleted from options - and yes that is a crime. This firepower however does not fit the image of the Charger either - the charger could seat 5 adults. The Firepower has 2 doors (the right number of doors) but can only seat 2 (not enough). Wrong brand too - the charger was a Dodge.

I wish they produced this version of the Charger:

PS - finboy - what are you not feeling in the firepower? Just curious :)

the charger you posted is the one that i liked, too bad they never brought it out :(

as for what i dislike about the firepower, well...

-the lines are way too sharp (side windows, headlights, rear 1/4 panel tops)
-the front lights that are just kind of hanging in the open grilles
-all chrome junk
-the rear is alright, but still looks like it was made with a box cutter (no curves on the lights, straight cut like an ugly new aged cadi :barf:)
-the side vent things on the fenders
-etc.

I agree on the lights in the open grille, that kind of looks weird - the rest of the shape / style looks very similar to the Ferrari Scaglietti (which I like hehe).

It wasn't 3 tons. The car weighed 3700lbs, I believe. It's also 40 years old, you want massive stopping/handling power out of a stock 40-year old car? Gimme a break!

youve missed my point, just trying to say its not a competator,
from a marketing standpoint, for the corvette nothing else

not get ready for the obvious reply
it could whip the corvettes ass in the quarter.
again not my point
the guys at chrysler know who they are after with this car "corvette buyers"
hence the name charger is not a good fit

and in response to the diggs at calling the 300m the charger.
again the marketing guys are after the people who had chargers in there teens and twentys exactly the kind of people who would need 4 door land yachts now from that standpoint nameing the 300 the charger is not a bad idea

the claims of the above post are not necesarily the opinion of anyone

not as good as ME12 from last year's shows.

But sing ME12 is dropped, this could be the next best thing to go against new Shelby GTR-1.

So if they build the Firepower will they dump the Crossfire? Seems rather redundant to have 2 coupe sportscars in probably a similar price range.

If they ever build this, it'll be slot between Crossfire and Viper. Probably closer to high end Viper with a $100+ USD price tag.

But I doubt I'd ever be able to afford a Scaglietti - and the Firepower is unique enough to not be considered a knockoff of the others - but there are definitely similarities.

That car is hot, needs a different grille though, and I hate those Chrysler rims. Doest look a lot like an Aston Martin though, but if you look at a picture of an SLR you can see where the styling came from, similar rear.
