stock its 232 hp stock
maybe 300 hp after upgrades

Fast little cars, but a tranny upgrade is needed when you go to higher power. OS giken makes a tranny upgrade for it but its pretty pricey. I have plans to buy one within the next 2 years as a winter car and eventually a bit of a race car. I know that they also overheat worse then 240's with sr20's but thats nothing an aftermarket rad. wont heal.

any idea what power levels will kill the tranny?

I know of guys in japan running 11's on the stock tranny's with no issues. In one of those 11's are possible without touching the internals.

GTiR is a pretty nice car. It's not a POS. It was also the tarmac king when it was in the WRC.

The only way you can legitimately state it's a POS is if you have driven it or own it. You obviously haven't since they aren't available here

gt28 is not a dual ball bearing turbo, the GT28rs is...just single bearing

GTiR's are awesome little cars... Such a damn sleeper too.

I remember reading HPi a few months ago, when they compared it to the S13's w/sr20. I believe in the end the GTiR was faster overall.:thumbsup:

The gti-r sr20 comes from the factory with forged pistons and rods. Its basically a built engine in stock trim.
