I am currently looking for a car and I've got a few specific cars that I'm interested in. My budget is around $6000 or so. A lot of users know more about these cars than I do so I was hoping people could help me out with their opinions about the cars and any other information that I should know about them.

The cars I'm looking at are:

92-96 Honda Prelude (SR or SR-V)
91+ Nissan 240SX
93+ Acura Integra
90+ Eagle Talon Tsi AWD Turbo
90+ Toyota Celica GT-S

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I don't know a lot of the specs for the cars either so that would help as well.

I just bought a 93 Integra for around that price range. A 92 SRV will be a bit more expensive.

I love the car, great MPG, great handling, okay power and it's only downfall in the insurance prices.

240, the following for these cars is growing quite quickly so lots of people will be able to help you out, its rwd, and you can get a turbo motor for it pretty cheap.

I've been looking around at the Prelude SR-V's but I think they're a bit out of my price range. Maybe I can find a sweet deal...prolly not though. :thumbsdow

Prelude or Integra or Talon. All of these have tons of aftermarket support.

Celica - too slow unless it's a rare all-trac
240SX - too slow and ugly (unless you want to shell out $$$$ for a swap).

Talon all the way

I'm looking to buy a car that I can drive throughout the year and that I won't have to put a bunch of money into it. I'd like a car that is pretty quick but I'm not looking to drop a new engine or anything into it.

I also am getting killed with insurance so I want something that I don't need to put collision insurance on it. I think i'm leaning towards a talon or an integra.

My choice:

1. Talon
2. Integra
3. Prelude
4. 240sx

Celica wouldn't be an option for me.

I think for my price range...i'm going to end up getting a talon. Are the older Tsi's quality cars? I don't want the tranny or anything like that to go anytime soon.

chalk up another vote for the 240. second choice would be talon but only if awd. my goal in life is to never buy a front wheel drive car with my money

I've only driven RWD drive vehicles in the past and I want to try AWD. I've definitely got it narrowed down to a 240SX or a Talon.

^ clearly nothing cause you are still herev:thumbsdow

I would go for the 240SX because as affirmentioned when you do decided you are itching for boost you can drop in a realitivly reliable/well known SR, Rb, Vg among other swaps.

I have riden/driven talon TSi AWD's and man they are NICE so quick, and very nice handling... of course i was going all test pilot, but a very smooth powerband... something else... is you dont need it to be screaming in the 5-7K range to make decent power... one thing about the talon... it makes a range of power starting from the low rpms.

If you daily, then alot of people say that DSM's are horribly unreliable, VS imports that are notoriously reliable note Honda.

I've been doing some research and is seems that Talon's are prone to leaks and tend to be a maintenance nightmare. Is this true?

I may end up getting an older Integra cause I know they're reliable and for the most part maintenance free.
