Microphone Help

I just bought a microphone today, and through all the wizards and stuff like that, it should be working... But it's not working for MSN or Counter strike. Through the audio/video wizard its good, the microphone test in CS it works, And the sound recorder works.
But it doesn't work with audio conversations or in counterstrike.

Any ideas?
