Anyone know what the hell happened? I pull up to the light at the Shaganappi/John Laurie intersection, and end up waiting for 15 minutes. As far as I could tell (there was a huge SUV in front of me), the intersection was fine, but cop after cop after cop kept going by. I must have counted at least 15-20 police motorcycles and like 6 police trucks go by. In the middle of all this police presence, I see 2 nice (damn expensive) limo's through.
Is there someone really important in town??? Anyone know what it was all about?

on 14th st sw I think by my house about 20 police cars must of gone by as well but this was at close to 1am

I saw the same thing before the G8. except it was downtown (12ave). Kinda crazy, first all the police motorcycles came speeding around with their sirens on, then stopped at the interesection and blocked off the cars, then the motorcade came by. Made a lot of noise, except the two cars they were escorting were beat up minivans. I'm guessing it was a practice run of some sort.
