Oh man do I ever want some Mexican Chili chips, those use to be my absolute favorite!!! I can't even remember the last time I had them....................way back in the day.

"For a short time in 2003, you could buy Old Dutch "Southwestern Spice." They were almost the same as mexican Chili, but they were not rippled. I can no longer find them, but if you see them, but em' cuz they taste almost exactly the same."

Found this reply to someone asking about where they could find them on :

we should petition Old Dutch to bring back Mexican Chili chips, they were the best ever, and I didn't think southwestern spice was near the same.....

I checked with Old Dutch about the Mexican Chili chips. They said they discontinued them due to poor sales, and that there are no plans to bring it back. Then they told me to try their other flavors. *L*

Anybody here remember Thunder Crunch? They had some awesome flavors too, like Jalapeno and roasted garlic or something.

I emailed them on their website. I asked for any alternatives to the flavor, but the lady told me they didnt have any at the moment, and just recomended me to try their other products, and thanked me for being a customer. :D

Those were hands down the best chips ever. They also had a sour cream and bacon in the orange packaging that was pretty good.

I would pay double the price of any other chip on the market if they brought them back.

I just got myself a bag of Mexican Chilis....they seem a little different than they were, but I think they simply went easy on the flavouring...the old ones were just loaded with the stuff.

how do you guys remember what they tasted like 9 years ago, im sure they are the same as before, but your memory is different, theres so much "hype" that you got all excited and they don't live up to the hype.

On another note i love these chips, i don't remember what they tasted like before, exactly, but i do like them

Nissanaddict
02-11-2008, 09:14 PM
don't get me wrong, they're still good. It's the same flavouring, there was simply more of it before.

The bag I have sitting in front of me has plenty of season. They taste exactly as I remember them... now if only I had a tahiti treat to wash it down.

TurboMedic
02-12-2008, 12:19 PM
I remember the seasoning used to be caked onto them....they are a little light on that part, but otherwise are the same.....I'm happy

sputnik
02-12-2008, 01:39 PM
Old Dutch cut back on their seasoning as people started to realize that 500mg of sodium per bag isnt exactly that good for you.

Most bags of OD chips are about 250mg of sodium now.
