Will Nextel phone w/Rogers Sim card work???

nextel phones can they work with a roger sim card?
or it must be unlocked?

need to kno what type of phone....and if nextel is a gsm network or not.

I think rodgers locks the sim card but it *should* work with a different phone as long as the phone is not locked to a network.

A Nextel works off an iDen style of network, like the Mike network we have in Canada. It is a SIM based phone but the SIM in a Nextel/Mike phone is very different from the SIM in a Rogers/Fido phone so nope a Nextel phone won't work on the Rogers network.

A Nextel or Boost Mobile phone could possibly work on the Telus Mike network but other than that you're out of luck.
