Has anyone seriously tried to get one of these babies into this country (Canada) legally?

Your only hope would be to build it yourself and get it registered as a kit car. Call the RIV(www.riv.ca) and ask.

Many thanx for the link! that would be a good place to start, seems the EPA kit car policy also comes into effect.

superformance has tried every trick in the book to bring them across, to no avail although I dont know if it is possible to bring one in yourself

Just watched car and driver tv, and in the US, they import the body/chassis and engine seperately and then put them together once they reach the states, and register them as a kit car.
