Wow...no shot clock. Imagine if you won the tip off and held on until the just before the half ended before taking a shot. Same thing happens in the 2nd half...you'd have a game with only 2 shots and with the state not using a shot clock, it's entirely possible.

Yah cause that's a good way to teach the players how to compete!

When I was in junior high our junior high girls team beat another school with a score of 125-10. That was pretty wicked.

If I remember my history correctly, that's why the NBA (or perhaps, other competitive leagues) instituted the shot clock. Scores used to be very low. Not as low as 5-2 mind you, but still low.

At the same time, I wonder why the other teams didn't pressure the ball? If you can create turnovers and capitalize on those opportunities, you'd force the other team to actually play.

Your reasoning is about 100 years ahead of this guy

Smith said the slowdown was implemented because BFA (7-4) has a strong scoring presence, while Milton (2-8) does not. The Milton players believed their best chance to be competitive was to just hold onto the ball.

The strategy almost worked.

"We had a shot go off the rim that would have tied it," Smith said. "We were one possession away to tie the game. We have not been in that position for quite some time."

Does he even know the score?

coaches that allow their teams/players to do that should be fired

a school like that shouldn't even be allowed to no longer have a basketball team...no point

If you were BFA and had a strong scoring presence, you would that that more defensive pressure would be a good idea.

how is that possible!?!?! were the players sleeping/sedated?? you almost need to be laying down on the court or shooting from your knees to have a score like that. ......thats complete bull....

I can't believe a coach would resort to something as gutless as this. If I was a parent of a student playing on his team I would demand that he be dismissed. What's the point of competition the way he played the game?:thumbsdow
