Is there a way to resize a shitload of pictures? I have a bunch of pics that I've taken with my 3.2 mp camera, but it's just taking an assload of time to resize them all. Is there a way to resize an entire group of pictures? :dunno:

I use a program called Arles Web image creator.

Creates galleries too. It will rename your files for you too.

Try Picasa. You can mass export and resize at the same time. Really easy to use, excellent for cropping, and it's free. Find it at http://www.picasa.com/content/download.php?sourceid=pic&subid=more

go here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx and get this http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

then you can right click in windows, hit resize....and done. it will do all that you select.

I use the Powertoy for quick jobs, Photoshop if I need exact dimensions/settings/other manipulations, and Irfanview for all my picture viewing :)

Ditto. I like it because you can retain the original data including the EXIF and date after resizing.

Also works great for batch renaming.

Batch process in Photoshop.

Here is a tutorial from me:

1. Open up a practice image to perform action on (for the purposes of creating the action)
2. First, create the action.
a. Window > Show Action
b. From the Action form, click ‘Add New Action’ icon
c. Name action RESIZER
d. Now that you are recording new action do the following steps:
i. Image > Image Size…
1. resize to ###px X ###px
2. File > Save For Web
e. Click Stop icon on Action form to stop recording
f. Resizer Action complete
3. Perform the newly created action on a batch of images
a. File > Automate > Batch
b. Make sure the batch form is set to the following:
i. Action: RESIZER
ii. Source: Folder
1. Choose: Select source folder containing images
iii. Destination: Folder
1. Choose: Select destination folder for resized images
iv. File Naming:
1. 1 Digital Serial Number
2. extension
c. Click OK -- images in source folder are resized and saved accordingly into destination folder.

Sorry about the spacing, tabs don't work well in these windows ;)
