I saw a few new F150 pick-ups,plus new Pugs,Hyundai's,VW's,etc.

No new American cars though.. the last ones are mid Fifties.

when castro took over in 1959 the import of american cars stopped. this is why the latest american cars that are 'generally' seen in cuba are pre-59. It is like going into a strange spanish time warp, haha. really cool though.

hey i recognize a few of those places in your pics! aha me n my family got like this underground tour w/ one of those cars. it was disgusting! old leather, all sweaty n shit, NO AC! OMG it was HELL! and for like the WHOLE DAY! lol
what hotel n city did you stay at? i stayed at varadero city(sp?) and the palma real. (right next to the havana club)

We stayed at the Brisas Del Caribe in Varadero.I probably saw your hotel.We rode around on one of those open top double decker busses a few times. Sounds like your tour was quite an adventure !! :)

At the resort I stayed at, there were 2 brand new black Benz' and a newer VW Bora 1.8T in the parking lot.
