I have an Isuzu trooper with recurring exhaust problem. The front pipe is warped, and as a result the gasket in between the manifold and front pipe keeps burning up and a gap is created(making it very loud!). I've had it fixed a couple of times, but the studs keep stripping and the problem comes back. This is an old vehicle, so I don't want to start putting 100's of dollars into it...just need to keep it on the road until the spring.

I have heard that it is possible to weld cast iron...but most people say that is a myth...any tips or suggestions?
