Opinions and thoughts would be appreciated guys!

I currently own 2001 330ci with mods (see sig) and 97,000 KM on it.

Supercharge my 330 for about (lets just say) $10G???

OR

Buy new M3 for about $80G???

My 330 is running great and I love it- no problems, but I want more power. If I sell my car and get say $40G I'd still need another $40 for the M3! I just don't know if it's worth $30G MORE for the M3 over s/c 330 - but my car has some miles on it for sure and warranty is done. With the mods I've done if add a S/C how do you guys think I would perform against a M3 (stock - both manual)???

Thanks!

Just get the M3. You will run into periodic tiny problems with the S/C kit, nothing is as reliable as N/A. You can just get the M3, get better handling, better suspension, and the list goes on.

A supercharged 330 will never be an m3.

Get the m3.

Get a 2003 M3. You should be able to find one for under $70k.

M3  I am in the business of selling S/C kits and other go-fast goodies, but there is no doubt the M3 is the way to go...and then you can start modding the M3 ;)

The only impressive S/C'd 330 I have ever seen first-hand is a local customers E46 cab, and it took him huge money and much frustration to get the final product perfected.

If you are going to spend that kind of coin, I would wait a couple of years for the e90 M3. You are likely going to want to upgrade to it later from the e46 m3 anyway.

if ur willing to shell out the cash for an m3 , do it. or else go with s/c

Omar will pipe up sooner or later, he has a 330 cab. with ASA supercharger. I did the install (:guns:--> Rennsport) which was a PITA to say the least. After everything was sorted out it made some very impressive power, I believe he's over 300rwhp and seems pretty happy (until you remind him of what he went through...)

As for performance verse an M3, it will eat it I am sure, its quite quick for a heavy :bigpimp: ride.

Much more to an M3 then power though, sell your car and get a used M3 then start moddin'

Thanks so much for all your thoughts guys - I have talked with omes  I'm ALL for reliability and "no hassle" stuff. I drop my car off in the morning, pick it up in the evening, car runs great, no problems, and doesn't upset the daily routine. Plus when the wife is with me I'm "not allowed" to "drive" my car like I'm on the track and well I'm sure a N/A engine would be better for that then a supercharged one. Sounds like I'm leaning to the M.....
Once again thanks guys!

I would second the M5 vote - although the E39 was around in the MY2000.

Actually, import an M3 CSL!!! Damn, those are so sweet...

330 is a great car, I thought about modding mine but I'm just going to wait and trade up in a year or so hehe

Hahahaha...I am famous:bigpimp:

I would say that if you need 4 doors, SC a 330 and mod from there.

If you don't need the 4 doors go with the M.

Just my thoughts.

Spring is just around the corner and more mods to come, lets just say that 350 rwhp will be the new benchmark. Not very M's will touch that.
