ok the head unit is excellent i would keep that. Here is what i would change, if u r going for commercial stuff, (like stuff that is avaibale at best buy, cc, futureshop etc.) I would go for 2 type R's 12", 2 MTX MXA 8001 amps.

I have the 8001 and it kicks ass.

the price i cant really say because it is in us dollars.

But good luck with the system

1600 watts rms for 2 type R's? don't you think thats overkill?

Gromet you don't need two amps if you are set on buying your stuff from CC, this amp will power both of those well and is enough power if you decide to step up to type R or other subs later

the specs on the CC website are messed up too, this amp does 657 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

that is plenty for Type S subs, it would be even better with Type Rs. I would recommend you step up to the Type R if you can, but negotiate on that price and you can do better... that is an expensive deck I guess for for Type Rs, haggle down to $250cdn a piece, any more then that is too much.

yeah those amps the 8001 is deffinetly over kill. im getting 4 mtx 10" and 2 6001 amps from work and there is still more power that isnt being used definetly try talking him into a deal and try and get the taxes included?
slow time of year for retail he will fold he will want the sale
