I forget what that virus is called but it doesn't do anything other than that. It will also send itself to everybody in your outlook express address book. If you go to smantic or wherever and do an online virus scan that should tell you what it is, then go to nortons site and download the removal tool for that paticular virus.

i heard that on the pop ups they sometimes have this link in little lettering on the bottom of the page explaining how to remove it as the homepage and stuff

Most likely JS.Exception.Exploit or something really similar....
Not a biggie to get rid of.

Ya it's super important to update your virus definitions. Also scan everything. I am just puzzled why your AV program didn't pick that up.

if u dont have an av, then u deserve it.

go pirate a copy of nav and ull be set. nav is good cuz it constantly scans everything.

funny i was hit by a virus before through Kazaa and i had no scanner at that time.. so i end up downloading norton off Kazaa and got rid of the virus :P

kaput, u have to have the most up to date definitions before you get hit by the virus. then itll find it, otherwise now it might be too late. some are undetectable once they're on your comp. and why were u downloading plugins anyways?!!?
