^^ a b16 has 160 at the fly at best. boosted d16s have produced up to 220 on stock internals. I think the d16 would be doing the smoking. not to mention to torque advantage

hmm... I don't think it would "smoke" a turbo d16. how'd u figure that? I base it on the fact that I have a turbo d16 and know others w/ turbo d16's that have not been smoked by a b16a

wow...I'm not even a Honda guy and you sir are VTEC brainwashed...on a good day a B16 will put down what??...145FWHP...and most of the Turbo D16's that I know of are pushing 200FWHP on low boost settings...now I don't know much about cars...but power to weight IMHO favours the snailed cars if I look at the numbers correstly, and I like to think that I am...

^^^:werd: A built-for-turbo B18B shouldn't cost more than 3500 to drop into your car.

For those of you mocking the DOHC heads onto a SOHC block, don't mock too hard! People said it couldn't be done to ludes and low and behold, there are a handful of people who have successfully accomplished it. It's not the ideal setup in my opinion but if you have the parts accessible and want to save some cash, it''ll get the job done! ;)

Anyway, don't know if it'll work on the D series shit...but I guess you won't know until you try! hahhaha

But yah, I'm in awe of the SOHC turbos...but I still laugh while in their presence! ;) ;) hahahaha

Seriously, they can be pretty decent though. I'll give props

Stock D16Z6
Garrett T3 .48/.60
DSM 450CC injectors
DSM 1g BOV
CustomCoach Autoworks Intercooler
Exedy Organic Racing Clutch
Custom Log Manifold
Custom Oil feed/drain kit
Uberdata P28
2.5DP
2.5 charge pipe
Autometer boost gauge

Total cost including about $450 in shipping and duties about $2100 (inc the clutch). Installed it in 2 days with another member on here (ancient). The only remotely major modification we had to make was cutitng the power steering bracket down a tad to let the wastegate actuator fit properly.

Have been boosting 10psi for 7 months, zero problems. And trust me, it fucking hauls. On the winter tires im using now on dry pavement I can't get it to hook up WOT until 4th gear. I have not dyno'd it yet, but estimates from a number of people who have done similar setups is about 200-210whp and 160-170ft/lbs.

What motor would be in a 90 or 91 prelude s. Same thing? To keep it on topic, I say turbocharge it.

Police
02-21-2005, 07:08 PM
90-91 prelude Si's have the B21A1 motor. The S model has the B20a5 in Canada, the states have a carbed 2.0L engine for the S model and same Si engine. No they are not the same and significantly diffrent then any B series engine at that.

No, no problems. I have a makeshift K&N that I squished on it now for the winter salt.
