My room, this is the only pic I have right now as I am obviously not in the city right now. There is more space to the left and right but that is not shown obviously in the pic (got my car parts corner :D) and double door closets on the left. Got a stereo and desk on the right but you can't see it in the pics.
The window in my room is kind of a design feature which is the thing that makes it "cool"
The window overlooks our family room which has an 18foot high ceiling, there is huge windows on the back of our house and the window in my room allows me to see through the top window in the family room and also get a nice view of the whole city (Downtown view if you look straight ahead , NE/SE Calgary on the right, SW Calgary on the left, can see as far as Signal Hill) :)

Actually, everyone in my family makes their bed. I used to hate making it and used to hate how my mom made us make it every morning but now that I'm out on my own I find myself still making my bed. I like everything to look neat and in place. I make the bed several times a day actually.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but how do you figure? It's perfect for starving students and/or poor kids that just need to get out of their parents house. I will agree that some of it is cheaply made, but for kitchen utensils, lamps and throw rugs they're number 1 for me. I love the poang chairs too.

I agree, Ikea is great for affordable and nice looking furniture. In Calgary, there are few or no alternatives to Ikea. Either one has to shell out a ton of money for designer furniture (like Oggo etc) or buy at places like Brick etc which have ugly furniture. There are no in-between places for those with a bit more money to spend so Ikea is a reasonable place to go.

I agree with you, if you're creative enough, you can make any room look good using stuff from Ikea! I've seen some pretty well organized and cozy rooms made out of Ikea stuff :)
