 im pretty lost since my dad wont help me out on this one. im buying a beater to get me to school the next few months, however im pretty short on cash. are there any insurance companies out there that possibly do not require mechanical inspections and insure you in monthly periods?

anything over 10 years will require a mechanical inspection. If you fail to, it could void the policy ab initio. (from the beginning)...since it is up to you to provide.

Monthly payments can be arranged through MOST companies, however, make damn sure you dont NSF the payments with them. They will drop you quite quick or put you in a high risk market. :thumbsdow

According to the new insurance rules, if you are only getting PLPD you do not require an inspection. Its up to the insurance company however, and its there for a reason. There are to many cars on the road that are riding on their last hair, and can fall apart at any second... kinda scarry
