This summer I had planned on building myself a nice CRX, but after a lot of thought, I think I would rather buy a car that I am cpmpletly happy with. I have always wanted a new RX7. I lve the body style and interior.

What I dont know tho is how rare are they. I believe the body style i am looking for is 93-97, what kind of price range are these at now?

to narrow it down a bit, I am looking for the turbo model fully loaded. $$?

if anyone has any idea about any of this, or any leads, i really would like to know. thanks

Ok the bodystyle you are considering is 93-95 and they are all twin turbo. They are very rare, and extremely rare in good condition. 93s are the cheapest as the interior is not as nice as the 94-95s.

A good condition fully loaded 94-95 will cost you around 25k.
If this seems like a lot then don't bother as parts are $$$ and they need a lot of attention.

But my god are they fun for the money!!!

money isnt really a problem and I can give it all the love and attention it needs. Iused to own a DSM, I know about expensive parts and everything breaking !!!

Does anyone know how hard it is to import a car from the states, I've been doing some searching and there are lots for sale down there, but how hard is it to bring into canada???

I imported mine. You have to pay 6.1 % duty and 7% gst on top of that at the border plus about $500 in other fees. Then you have to convert the front bumper rebar (about $1500 from mazda) pas the RIV out of country inspection ($!00) and then out of province ($100).

But just as a precaution I don't think I would buy an RX7 sight unseen. There are some drastic differences in condition (some cars were not clearcoated fromt he factory and there are a lot of poor reman engines around).

But if you get around this it is an amaizing car.

I think Jaymez_sti baught his from Adam (RX7 Specialties)
I know Adam was asking a lot more for the car than 22 but I don't know what he payed for it.

Yuppers , super deal , 25,000 Orginal Miles , no rust , no dmg , nothing wrong whats so ever! Car from Florida.

Its such a fun car to drive , I defiantly would search around if you are serious about buying one. If you are looking for a near perfect car , be prepared to pay over $25,000. And if you see a silver one with full body kit and rebuild status from Van , stay away from it.

yea, these are pretty rare cars and they are indeed pricey. but i think instead of all the hassle of importing and not getting to see/drive the car, pick one up locally.

in 2007 (production started in '92 in japan) you can legally bring them over from japan for (at my best guess) a fraction of the price.

^^
honestly i never heard of that problem for the 93, i know it was a problem for my car the 10AE. but if there was a problem about the paint peeling off the 93 its probably because they were going to fast!
haha

It is a problem with the 93s the 94-95s don't have this problem.
