I bought my at Lammle's Western Wear at the Deerfoot mall. You have to go to the store that has tack supplies:

Who would have known, since riders use Lexol to protect their saddles.

Best stuff, make leather soft like a baby's butt.

my dad bought some for his car and i've been sneaking his supply and using it on mine......my leather has never been softer. i use it on my leather arm chair, computer desk chair - basically pretty much anything that is leather. good stuff.

After reading extensively into leather care, i've seen lexol cause a lot of damage by drying the leather out. Sure it gets your leather very soft but it works to dry it out and that leads to premature cracking.

I'd try and order leatherique or poor boys - much better reviews.

You can also get Lexol at

Tandy Leather Factory - 403-253-1768
7816 MacLeod Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2H 0L9

Its actually on a little sidestreet just off MacLeod, just north of Heritage drive, immediately north of the overpass. East side.

Arent you supposed to use a dedicated cleaner followed by a dedicated conditioner instead of products that claim to clean, and condition?

Alot of people reccomend poorboys stuff but it is a combination cleaner/condtioner. Would one clean the leather with something else and then just use this cleaner/conditioner as a conditioner?

I want to give my leather a good clean ASAP (its not dirty, but I doubt the previous owner did one) and I am trying to narrow down what products I want to use.

That is a mtter of personal choice. i use a 2 step clean and condition system. however the single stage can work well, I know poorboys does. I have also found that the 2 step does a better job in the end, but it is twice the work.
When using a 1 step I normaly give the leather a good cleaning with an apc diluted properly. If your car has never been done I would start by cleaning the leather with an apc. use a good terry cloth or a stiff briste brush to clean deep.
Then i would use the leather cleaner just to be sure and finaly i would condition it. Its not very time comsuming and is well worth it

That sounds like exactly what I want to do. What apc do you use and how much do you dillute it? I don't want to use just anything on the leather.

Also just curious, how much do you charge for an interior detail and/or a leather clean?

Thanks.

I use meguires all purpose cleaner cut 4 part water 1 part cleaner. As for what i charge (i dont want to take business away from the sponsors but) it all depends on the car and how it is.. normaly and interior with leather is anout 80 for a smaller car. This includes a clean of eveyrthing inclusing leather. dash, window clean, leather condition, vacume and ofcours we dress it all up with your desired level of sheen. We will also do a spot carpet clean if needed, for a full carpet shampoo there is an extra fee but its aval.

Hope this helps..

Also if you have any questions about it if you choose to do it yourself i would be more then happy to awnser them. Either send me a pm or post a thread. I always love spreading the joy of detailing to others
