The next S-Class, AMG will sport twin turbos (no superchargers)

They will be designated as S63 AMG

The twin-turbo version is an all new 32-valve V8. This clever base engine is modular. The V8 will get direct fuel injection and it`s the engine to which AMG will apply it`s twin turbo muscle. The result is well over 540 horses.

Uhh don't we all. Too bad there's like a $100,000 difference in price between the 63's and the 65's. Hardly worth it unless you were really bling.

The "63"s are replacing the "55"'s in the V8 forced induction AMG classes. More displacement, not much more peak power, way more power under the curve, and way easier to turn up the power via software.

I thnk I'd take the SL65 over the CL though....

SL65 is seriously fast. Anyone know how much the CL65 can goto without the limiter?
I think they had the SL go at atleast 214mph?

Actually the 63 AMG's are going to be normally aspirated. They will replace the 55's and delete the supercharger. Displacement is king again...

I couldn't believe it but there was an SL65 on the show floor at the Edmonton Motor Show. Sticker price - $240K+tax. What a ride and I think a new category of sleeper.

Out of the 4 dealers in Vancouver I have been to3 and all have a CL65 on the floor, locked up and there to make you dream. But no more supercharges from Japanese suppliers in MB product, Turbo has limited lag so they have decied to switch.
