So what do you guys think of probes, older gen like Convicts, and mine? cause they are:bigpimp:

I like the newer ones before they became the ZX2 (I think that's the name what replaced them, the escort). Pretty nice for a Mazda.. errmm I mean FORD!

I heard the MX-6 and the Probe were mechanically the same car. Wanna confirm this?

I am pretty sure the Probe became the ZX2, but I'll do some research and we'll find out who is right.

I know im right :thumbsup: and yes the mazda mx-6 is mechanically the same car, the engine in a probe in the first gen is a mazda 2.2L

the escort has been around for ever as well so i don't think they changed the probe into a escort

the escort is the ZX2. thats why ford refered it as the ford escort ZX2 when it was being sold:thumbsup:

and the probe was replaced and renamed as the cougar!

While it doesn't look like it, the sporty little ZX2 is actually sold under the Escort line <-------- ... A Ford Escort ZX2. It was added to the Ford Escort line when the old Ford Probe was dropped from production.
