Depends... I've scored as much as $700 others have gotten a lot more than that... in the G's

This year I'm expecting only $200.

I'm not an expert but based on what I've learned from Rolland and his family, this is how I think it works:

Married people give money to unmarried people to bring wealth and good fortune into their own lives for the year. The more you give, the more luck and fortune you get. The people receiving the money say "Gung Hai Fat Choi" and it apparently very BAD luck to refuse to give money to any unmarried person who asked a married couple for the money.

Haha am I close? :)

EDIT: Happy year of the rooster! :)

:werd: I've been getting less and less money every year. The only time i've scored really big was when i was in HK for new years. I'll be lucky if i get $200 tommorow.

If Hampstor's family actually gave any money this year, then yes, I would have gotten some, and the same thing went with my ex, I recieved money from his family as well. I'm sure Melinda probably raked in a little bit this year from Rollie's family.:)

Yep, white girl doin the chinese new year for the second year! I got a little bit from Rolland's grandmother and parents. I don't like it though, taking their money when I've done nothing to deserve it feels really wrong!
