What causes the thump when your amp shuts off?

Amplifiers are truly a "you get what you pay for to an extent" item.

I think that those cheap ass amps are a poor buy. They simply do not perform, they thump in all the wrong places, and some even stay on when you shut off your car!

Name brands like Kenwood are about the bare minimum for what you should be buying - call it what you want, but i've used Kenwood amps for over 5 years now and i've never had one blow on me or cause me any grief whatsoever, so I will continue to use them (not to mention, they have excellent THD ratings).

Anyways, im not advocating Kenwood amps or anything. But get something half ass decent, or face weird noises and other stuff. Not to mention, shitty amps rarely put out the power they advertise!

My Phoenix Gold amps do that too... as did my Rockfords. It's just something they do.
