I can't say I am a big drag race fan, but I noticed on the beyond main page that they had a list of the 10 fastest cars in Alberta. The slowest was

10. Midtown Import, Honda Civic, (89), 12.6@111

Has no one with a duece in Alberta run faster than a 12.6 ?

You're talking about 4bangers right? Bec. I've seen some muscle cars run some pretty fast times at Race City

Well no one has really raced their Deuce this year at the tracks. I did with my NA engine, and a MKI did 13.2 i believe on a stock Gen III 3sgte.

But this upcomming season, you should see alot more deuces at the track.

yes that 13.2 will be closer to 11.9 if the owner decides to continue the project

also obviously beyond doesn't cater to 6 cylinder cars, because i have seen a black supra pull a 10.3 there so what is the definition of sport compact?

Umm the List is not subject to 4 cylinder cars.

Simply there were no 6 clyinder sport compact cars that were fast this year.

Plus you have to want to be on the list.

As in, you have to provide your timeslip. So, if you don't feel like doing that portion, then you won't get on the list even if you are faster than all those cars...

But it does include 6 cylinder cars ... Just not 8+

sounds good just need to wait for summer, i'll show you a slip, i did 13.9 stock, and now have 500 less lbs, 300 more hp and stickier tire so we'll see

Keep an eye on the events section once spring arrives, there will be lots of track days throughout the summer. Hope to see you there as we rarely see supras out there.

Are mr2's good fro track cars? I've seen a video o f a240sx beating an mr2 pretty bad. but I guess that could be driver.

And don't the 91-92 mr2's have really bad oversteer?

Well - because they way a 'sports compact' is defined means there are no 8-cyl engines! Because generally, you find 8-cyl in larger vehicles, certainly not compact ones!

The list is not limited to member cars...

Anyone in Alberta who has their time slip submitted for the list (and has a sports compact vehicle) qualifies...

toma ran a 13.8

another omni owned by a buddy of mine went 111-113 mph, but didn't get out of the 13's as it had no traction. he sold the car back to its previous owner and it no longer is running

I ran 13.6 in Edmonton last year...not a deuce but 3SGTE powered none the less...I'm hoping to break 12's this year, using a CT20b too...

If you are asking that question then you have completly failed to grasp what these cars are all about. Hellacious turn in and the ability to be really early and hard on the gas coming out of a corner which means you get to carry that speed all the way down the strait. A well prepped duece also has lots of power to put down going down that strait and to top it off will out brake almost every thing going into the next corner.

I had a 240SX-SE before I got my MR2. The 240 was a lot easier to drive but the MR2 would eat it for lunch.

:werd:
AS I mentioned to you Max the sw20 rained supreme throughout its JGTC carreer. A 240sx is nothing in comparaison
