okay guys, i am thinkin about b uy a intercooler that is bar and plate and it saids that the thing flow 350 cfm.
i have a b18a, and i think i am going to be running 8-12 psi. usually. is the intercooler not good enogh or will it be fine.

thanks

The intercooler you are describing will flow more than 350cfm, thats not the problem. The problem being that at more than 350cfm the efficiency of the intercooler is such that increased IC pressure drop will occur. It is good to note that the cooling efficiency is affected as well.

According to my rough calculations, at 8 psi engine requires 385.62cfm@8000 rpm, and at 12psi 459.42cfm@8000rpm (it hits 350cfm@6100rpm). I'd verify that math with another source also, but I believe it to be correct.
Constants:
12.8psi absolute pressure (at Calgary altitude)
1.5psi IC pressure drop (the IC specs should state the actual drop at the 350cfm rating)
Volumetic eff. 0.9
Temp. 545°R

I'd suggest you go slightly larger than you need rather than smaller, but thats just my opinion.

edit:
oops calculated for B16, fixed now for B18

the hondas are 90% volumetric efficent. really? wow.
