Has anyone done buisness with Hotwheels Auto? If so, how were they? Good experience, bad experience? I've been looking at a car on the site, and I don't want to get screwed with my first "expensive" car purchase. I mean, there's a couple spelling mistakes and stuff on the site, which seems un-proffesional to me and so many of the cars have 0 Km's on them, which seems odd for some of the 93's and around there. Just wondering how their reputation is. Any information would be awesome! Thanks guys.

If you're referring to the car, I know I like it. Just want to know if they've ever bullshitted anyone or other bad stuff like that.

If they are a dealer of used cars chances are that they have BS'd someone. That is part of the industry you have to take with a grain of salt. Any used car is a gambling proposition but you can protect youself by having the car professionally inspected prior to signing any papers. Never take a stranger's word for anything when used goods are being traded. Due dilligence.:)

My brother got a civic from him and as far as I know, he had no complaints about the transaction. They're a sponsor on this forum so I'm sure they have a half decent track record

I bought my SiR from them. Not bad, though I noticed some things a few days/weeks after I had bought the car that they didn't mention (Ie- no florrmats,, crappy passenger window motor (replaced) ec.)

A good transaction overall. Held the car for me for over a week while I got some loan documents taken care of.

It was also my first major purchase.

I'd say to go for it, but make sure you get the car inspected and whatnot before you buy. Good guys overall.

my friend bought his teg from them and the only thing wrong with the car was the speedometer... but they told him about it before he purchased the vehicle.... so im sure they are a well respected company

So, A friend of a friend's dad, is a 16 year "grand master specialist" mechanic. Would I just ask him to come along to inspect it? Is him popping the hood and looking around the engine, and test driving it good enough? Is it necessary for him to get down and dirty? If that makes sense to anyone..

Thanks for all the info!

Get a shop (preferably one that matches the make of the vehicle) to inspect it fully.

you want ot know everything about that car so no one gets screwed in the long run. When everything is on the table it's easier to make a decision. Sometimes something goes wrong right after you buy it and It would make you fell bad if you decided to just "take a peek under the hood".

take the car to the dealer for an inspection, its a bit more money, but it will be done thoroughly.

their obviously new speedos.

this is definatly something to watch out for. check to make sure these cars arn't from the usa (report from any registries), i'd run a carfax on any vehicle i was thinking about buying from them.

and its almost impossible to verify the real milage if the cars are from the usa or different provences and have a new speedo. just because they disclose to you what it "use to be" doesn't mean they can really prove it

its easy to tell if an od has been rolled back on any honda, the numbers on the odometer don't line up.

I think the 0km's on the odometers is merely them not filling in the field on their website.

Either that or what legendboy said the speedo has been replaced.

What do you mean by that?

i mean its easy to tell if an odometer has been rolled back on a honda. if your sitting in the drivers seat, and you look directly at the odometer, the numbers will not line up. some will be higher/lower than others.

many of u may now be surprised that you may notice this on your own car. trust me, there are thousands of people curbing in every city. if you have looked at cars in the bargain finder, chances are you have looked at a few curbers cars.
