harness install

hey i got some momo 3 point harnesses for my car and im not sure where to mount the shoulder strap??? any suggestions im a little hesitant to drill through my firewall. there are some pretty heavy screws on the top of the firewall under the plastic trim would those work?? im not positive if they would be strong enough?

The only thing I'd do with a harness short of securing it to a proper roll cage would be to drill through the firewall and use some MASSIVE washers in behind, even this seems a little sketchy to me.

I drilled and used a 2" x 3/8" x 10" peice of steel flat bar with big ass washers on the back side. Mine is intended for solo 2 though. If I was going to be doing any kind of raod racing or drag racing I would think hard about a roll bar.

Ive heard of people using the child safety hook but im not sure if that is at the proper angle. The bolt in the firewall seems to be the proper method.
