Does anyone know if the 98-99 Sentra SE's are really rare in canada? There's none for sale in the trader or bargain finder right now. I really like them, they have the SR20DE in them.

They are rare I guess considering most people opted for the 200SX SE-R instead. The 200SX being a 2 door was more popular. It did have VLSD. Either way you couldn't lose... both were SR powered.

I find the rarest Nissan is the 91-94 Nissan Sentra SE-R which im sure was not available in Canada but have heard there is 1 or so in Calgary. Can anyone confirm this for me plz?

For 98 they switched the tranny, no VLSD for 98-99 in the sentra SEs or 98 200SX SE-R

My gf has a 98 SE-R and I love it, but I want something a little bigger and safer

Hmmmm, the Infiniti G20s were powered by an SR20DE as well, though rear drive, might be something to think about, anyone have a link with info?

BTW, only 7% of 200sxs were SR20DE, the rest had the GAY16DE

Actually you are right the 98 didn't have LSD,eventho i thought it did but I know for a fact that the G20T had both VLSD (5SPD) and it was FWD.

BTW i was refering to the 200SX SE-R which was SR20DE powered. SE-R!!!

Hrm, right you are. I just looked it up and the G20 is front drive. I always thought the primera was rear drive, maybe I'm thinking of something else. I guess the north american market never saw a rear drive SR20DE

2000 Sentra SE's had SR20DE in them also. When I was buying my sentra I saw 1 red one at Sunridge mazda (I think)...it was there a month ago still. could probably bargain down a lot.

The SE's are pretty cool.

yeargh, I forgot about this thread.

The NA SR20 is actually quite a nice powerplant. Sure it only makes 140HP and 133 Tq, but the curves are nice and flat, and that peak tq comes at just above 4500 rpm I believe, and still goes pretty strong till about 7K.

I think a 99 civic si with 160 hp is slightly slower 0-60, maybe even 1/4 mile than an SE-R. They weigh about the same.
