the final real release just came out this morning it was like bootlegs and semi tracks before.. i've been listening to it today.. its pretty good so far.. haven't got to finish the whole disc yet tho

Well, it has happened again (and nobody is one bit surprised). We all saw the media attention surrounding the leak of the Eminem - Encore album several weeks before its release date. Interscope got so worried about the Internet leak that they brought the release date forward a couple of weeks fearing that Internet piracy would hit the albums sales hard. After that we also saw the latest U2 album, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb arrive first, not in stores, but all over the Internet.

Now the latest album to surface weeks before its release is 50 Cent's new album The Massacre. The album is set to be released on March 8th 2005, but there is already a retail copy of the 22 track album available online for download. Mainly found on P2P networks like Kazaa (usually MP3 rips that have been around since Napster). The album is currently appearing on the Internets biggest P2P networks, IRC and of course BitTorrent sites.

There is no doubt that Interscope will be very frustrated about this leak, as today is only February 22nd, a whole 14 days before the albums retail release. Perhaps we will see legal digital copies of the album appear on some of the biggest online music stores like iTunes and Napster in the next few days, as I'm sure rap fans will want to get their hands on this new album quickly, and are not too concerned about the legality of the method they use.

Yeah I was really looking forward to 50's new albumn but I have to say it was not what I expected. There are some good songs on it and some good beats but its just a bit different for the most part from normal 50 style that I'm used to. For the first time it seems 50's lyrics arent flowing with the beats (Although track 21 is crazy)

And yeah I agree with gggunit, The Game's cd was way better, I didnt think I'd be saying this but the lyrics, beats and style in The Documentary are better than those in The Massacre.

I just downloaded and burned 50's new album at work and I'll take a listen to it tonight but "The Game" put out the best "rap" album I have heard in years IMO.

Not many club beats at all but just awsome songs alltogether.

i find that too many songs are slow :dunno: :dunno: just not enough fast, upbeat songs..... but get rich or die tryin was awesome... tough act to follow.

It's really not a "bad" album, it's just quite a bit different compared to the normal 50.

Little bit different rythym to this album, less club beats(Which is what I think a lot of us reallly miss). Less hardcore "kill em dead" rhymes on this album too which I don't like cus that is what I have always loved about 50 was his rhymes about killin people, haha.

Is he coming out with another album this year? Where did you hear this?

My Toy Soldier is a good tune at least. it seems that most rappers are at the top of the game when they are making fun of somebody -- Toy Soldier, Go To Sleep, Bump Heads, and Assasin are some of my favorite tunes.
