hehe, i suppose its not really anything to be proud but a few nights ago i was on anderson and this guy in the GP looks over at me and smiling while talking to his friend, and motions to race...the light turns and i rip thru 1st and just begin to walk away with him making close attempts to pass with everyone one of his shifts...but GPs must be faster than most 4 cyl's? perhaps i legitimately have madd skillz??

it was probably the gt..not gtp..which is supercharged and fassst:burnout:

i dunno i think the 3.1s are only in the older ones, it was the gt of the current model, a friend of mine's father owns one and it has the 3.8...i assume this at least outputs like 175-200 hp and like 230 tq?

It could have been an SE , which still has like 175 horse or something like that..but dont run very good times at all, like 18's or 19's here in Calgary ( sorry GP Driver! :D!) im sure you could beat one in the beamer...i can in the MR2, and its a slow peice of ass.

Ok Gotta Say you Guys gotta Get your Cars Straight the GrandAM is lighter then the Grandprix and the GT puts out the Same horse power as the 3.8 Grandprix GT. But Jefftype R is Right The Transmissions in the Grandams and GrandPrixs are Shify For Shift Programming (and No 5spd). I Drive a Grand Am GT and I've beaten Civic Si 318i Bmw's But I've lost to them aswell When they are Fixed up a Grand Prix GTP Will Beat a 4cylinder Bimmer But still anyways Congrats on the Kill a win is a win regardless. And Just because Some People that Drive a Car are AssHoles it has Nothing to Do with the Car. Most Honda Drivers Think Their Cars Hot Shit When they Suck the Big One. But That's Not the Cars Fault. And Alot of Honda Owners are Cool Down to earth People that actually Know What they are Talking about .

that GTP isn't stock though. and the run was probably near sea level.

just to set the record straight, the GP is offered with 3 engine choices (well, two engines, and one with the S/C):
the 3.1L V6 "Ecotec" ... that's the wimpy 175hp one,
the 3.8L V6 "3800" ... that's 200hp and 215ft-lbs or so N/A
the 3.8L V6 S/C aka ":eek: " ... that's the gtp ... fast. and for another $500 you can up it another 50hp or so (pulley, exhaust and CAI)

in any case mosy grand prix outthere are not the gtp+ model so chances are. we have nothing to worry about. if ppl are after performence they might as well get a camaro or firebird.

this is GP_driver:

my Grand Prix is a 98 and its an SE, stock it has 175 hp and 195trq, it runs crappy 1/4 mile times because it is Heavy, and 1st gear on the tranny sucks!!! although ive found that from a roll like 70-90km / hr it can hold its own againt most cars it would loose to from a light.

but in all good time im putting in a S/C and hopefully that will cut down my 1/4 times by a bit

james, lol, with just intake my best run was 18 flat, 79mph

havent tried it since my exhaust and new feul system, but i dont think that made a big change, just gotta wait for the S/C
