Yeah...unsure at this time whether the rider is going to make it.

As for the photos. When it is dark, the cameras film (or in my case light sensor) takes longer to expose because of the lack of light, as such you need to leave the shutter open longer to get the same amount of light into the lens and onto the film (sensor) as if it was day and lots of light. Most of the photos were between 4 and 6 seconds exposure, where as your typical daylight shot ranges between 1/200th of a second and 1/2000th of a second (more or less depending on how you want the photo to expose).

O ic, thats pretty cool to know actually. How this camera works and stuff. Still they are pretty nice shots.

I just hope atleast the biker survives. Is it known who was at fault? The trucker i am guessing? 17th Avenue and 52nd ST SE, thats like right beside where I work.

ya know when things like that happen it is really too bad. Hopefully the guy or girl riding the bike makes it. The thing I don't understand with people in Calgary is why the first day we get really nice weather do they all hop on their bikes and go for a rip? I saw a few rockets and a few cruisers out today. I guess none of them notice the gravel and crap still on the road. I wouldn't even look at a bike out here until at least April. In this case I'll guess it was the truck driver at fault, but none the less I dunno why you would take your bike out in feb. with shit still on the roads.:dunno: Just my opinion.

shit, those are better pics than i have ever seen supplied by the police when ivestigating a collision...

(in terms of lighting etc... not content)

You'd be suprised at how the cops don't know how to use their cameras.

^On the other hand, I'm not sure the police use Digital Rebels and the like! ;)

I hope the biker makes it, at fault or not. It looks like the bike T-boned the truck while trying to avoid it by veering left, hence how only the "passenger-side" handlebar is bent, and the rest of the bike looks to be in decent condition. Just a guess, though.

Collided with a truck that entered the roadway... Really sounds like the bike was on the road, and the truck turned onto it?
Brutal.

that is one good camera you've got there. like whoa.
best of luck to the biker, he doesn't deserve to die because somebody else is a dumbfuck that can't watch the road.
