View Full Version : Dinan cold air intakes

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the Dinan intakes in the winter time i.e. picking up snow, colder engine, or also in the summer time with picking up excessive dust causing more frequent filter changes.

I have had to change mine due to a few extremely dusty road trips last summer. Also, you will be more susceptible to water damage because of the lower filter position. I had trouble installing aftermarket proj. headlights as well. It is possible but some modification was necessary. That's all I can think of for now.

DOnt understand why everyone pays so much for a Dinan intake......they are not that much better...Oh well.

I have the Dinan carbon fiber cold air intake on my E36 and I haven't had any problems with it at all. But IMO you can find better intakes for less money.

It's true, you pay more for the name but the CF looks pretty good. I bought mine before I knew any better.

GruppeM is the shiznit

Had ECIS, Dinan before too all quite comparable.

My dislike about the Dinan is the PITA it is to change/clean filters.

ECIS is good bang for the buck but I'm not too sure if they make anything for E39 applications.

anyone recommend one for a e46 3 series? cheap but actually usable (as in won't act like sheit or anything during rain/snow)?

Conforti and ECIS are best bang for the buck.

I have the Dinan intake and it's a pain to install. But it's worth it because it does give a little difference and the sound is amazing. I got it second hand so I don't have to pay a arm and a leg for it.
