Is there going to be a negative effect? I put them on backwards and just realized after I finished and its too late to swap them now.

The front left is facing backward while the other one (front right) is facing opposite. That goes for the rear too.

why dont you use this time to change the tire instead of typing this up?

Hope they are not directional tires.

i dont understand how you can put them backward, depends on how your tyres are of course...... and as for negative effect... i think only to your tyres as well...

In case some of you don't know, the tire tread should be facing outwards. So no, you cannot put any wheel on any side. What I did wrong was 2 of my tires are switched around so the tread is facing backwards.

As for a negative effect, im thinking i'll be splashing water to the guy behind me. That's maybe it, I just want to know if I'll have any handling issues.

I can't go and switch them now because its late and my car is parked outside. It'll have to wait until I get back from school tomorrow.

Putting on directional tires backwards usually doesn't make a huge difference when the road is dry. In the wet it will make much more of a difference.

There was a tire test awhile back where they tested directional tires on both wet and dry. When it was dry there was no difference, in the wet mounting it incorrectly caused the vehicle to hydroplane at a lower speed.

im sure if they are directional tires.. you wont have as great of traction? and much faster wear.

jesus christ, are you saying the tires are directional and they are on the wrong way (directional tires normally have little arrows pointing the right direction out), or do you have some sort of wheel problem?

If it was a big enough concern for you to post here about it, why not go drive under a street light, change it and be done. Reading this thread was 2 minutes of my life that sadly I will never get back :banghead:

Some wheels are directional and some RWD's have wider rims in the rear than front. So the answer is no, u can't.

Directional tires that are installed on backwards can:

- be louder
- cause the car to pull in either direction
- wear faster
- can cause loss of traction in wet conditions
