This guy from Red Deer is trying to sell me a1986 black/light grey Trueno AE86. Its RHD so definatly JDM, plus it only has 98 000 kms. He is asking 9200 is that too much for this car??????

I like it- the interior is mint and the 4age is running strong.

considering the fact that importing one costs just as much as a silvia or skyline nowadays, due to the AE86 holding some value across seas....if its in great condition I would say hes not too far off. I think you could knock er down a bit though:thumbsup:

Really, you got a quote for only $3500? How long ago was this? I would quote $7500-10000 for most that are in good shape, they are not cheap in Japan, despite their age and how common they seem to be.

I think that's a good price if you can confirm the mileage, it's a bonus that it's already in Canada.

you have to remember you don't buy these cars so that you can mod it all up and than it will have a good resale vale. Like with a North american ae86 you can dump cash into them and you can maybe get $5000 for it if your lucky. But you buy these cars for having fun in them.

The fact that its all original parts is also an extra because in my opinion engine swaps suck cause you have to change this and that and it all adds up and for a genuine 86 I think its a great price esspecially if it is like a grade 3 from the auction.

Personally I would say go for it if you really want an 86 but take a few nights to think about if its the car you really want because you want the right view on owning this car, if you screw it up it goes staight to the junk yard.

just my opinion because a friend an I are working on one and we plan on dumping a crap load of cash into it and we don't expect to much of it back in the end if we do sell it.

yea totally.....AE86's are pure fun, and thats about it. they look alright from the outside but man when your sitting inside you feel so "poor" lol....interior is just nasty:D
having a JDM trueno would be sweet...but not as my primary car.

If you want to stick with JDM, i hate to say it but the reason not many people are bringing in truenos/levins is because they cost as much as the FC/R32/S13/Z32 cars etc. with half the power.
If you absolutly love the car then go for it:thumbsup:

These cars are highly prized for drifing or whatever.

I think $9200 for that car is a bit high, but then again, I'd rather buy something faster with that money. If it's the car you want, spending some extra bucks shouldn't be a huge deal.

Ther eholding there value because like RickdaTunner said its the Initial D craze, not to mention people love to use them for drifting there still a wanted car because they watch a 19 year old car out drift a 5 year old car and people wana have them. If its in good condition the amount is justiffied go for it if you want but like others have said buy it only if its truly the car you want ...

p.s. drop a 3 roter into it  :burnout:

dude, if you have the money, and for some odd reason you feel like spending it on a slow car, then go right ahead. personal opinion says paying that much for an ae86 is rediculus, but if your personal opinion says its worth it, then i know the ae86 guys will be happy cause it boosts the value of their cars.
