Not sure what the price tag is, probably a tad more than $400 but the Rockford decks are good. Only one that hasn't broken in my car yet (been through 3 Sony and 1 JVC).

jvc 980 is a decent one if you want to spend more, you need to step into the 500 range.

My range can get to there :)

The only problem with the CDA 7894 is that I just find out it doesn't support CD changers. Do you guys know a similar one that support CD changers as well?

why would u want a cd changer when u have mp3?..
u might want to try the higher end alpine deck.. the 98 i think.. its the same one as the one ur lookin at but in silver and doesnt have a built in amp.. so u have to buy one to power ur speakers

Tahnks surfertech

The reason why I want the CD changer is Because I have around 4000 MP3's and I don't want to have a bunch of CD laying around when I can have all those CD's with mp3 songs on a CD changer on my trunk.

THe higher Alpine cda 7995 has a CD changer support features built in?

The Pioneer mp3 decks are quite nice, give those a try, easy to use interface and better than average looks (but thats subjective).

I don't know to much really about headunits but I haven't heard alot of nice things about Pioneer and as you said looks are subjective and I don't really care about looks I just need quality :)

My perfect thing to buy will be a headunit that come with a harddrive on on the trunk but, I have seem only 1 of then (Neo) and I don't think is all that good.

Does anyone knows a better one or a mp3 headunit with cd changer features?

just burn lots of cd's worth of mp3's man, its not really a hassle to change it at all

Thanks Impreza A least I know that If I can't find a decent mp3 headunit that support cd changers I'm going for the 7894 :)

Impreza I don't really understand why it comes with a control remote for? rather than pickup a remote control and change the song or the radio station, I think is easier to reach straight to the headunit and push a button right?

Do you use a remote control and if so what is the logic behind it?

theres alot of differences between those 2 alpines.. the silver one.. is the higher end version of that deck.. it requires a amp to power ur speakers which will make ur speakers sound so much better.. and that one i beleive has sub control just in case ur amp doesnt have it.. um im not sure about the cd changer tho..
i was gonan buy both of those decks cuz i used to work for a company.. eitehr way u go.. those alpines are really good.. dont botehr with the sony crap.. the lasers burn out so fast.. even there higher end stuff cant compare to alpines.. ill msg u back about the cd changer

here bud.. i foudn the mp3 changer for u..
go to alpine.com then go to north america and go to cd/dvd changers.. then i guess u would pick mp3 cd changer sicne u want to play mp3s from the cd changer... is that right?

the reference site should look like this url http://ecominet2.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=CHA-S634&p_category=20&p_subcategory=45&p_main=10

price is 649 canandian.. which means u can proabably find it for like 400 somewhere

thanks Again surfertech

How can the remote be for the CD changer when I read on a web page that it doesn't have CD changer Support?

QBA
01-01-2003, 11:25 PM
Thanks surfertech

I looked at that one it only support 6 disc at a time with is not a big deal for the kind of price.

And for what I have seem all those changer come with it's own head unit, so I have to end up with two head units on my car. and the head unit for those changers look pretty shittty, not hight end like the 7894 :)

Alpine has better sound quality. With Pioneer, you can't scroll through your mp3 list unless you buy the 9400 which is their top model. Check out this website and send them an email for a price quote, they have good prices http://members.rogers.com/gentech

I have an alpine CDA-7995, I really like it. I got it for $333 at a soundsaround sale. It supports any ai-net changer, so yes, it does support mp3 changers. The remote is for the deck only, but if it is connected to a changer, it does control some of the cd changer's features, like switching discs.
The only time I ever use the remote is when I am showing off my system, and I am standing outside the car with the hatch open. So, about twice a year, lol.
