Ok, I don't do my own taxes because I have someone who does it for me every year.. so I am absolutely clueless on what to do.. I just got a new job, and in every new job you have to fill out the Tax credits return form for Personal and Alberta.

I go to school full time, and you get put the value in each returns form.. but I just don't know how much.. I printed out my T2202A form.. and in 2004 it's the following

Jan 2004 to April 2004 - Full Time - $1375.50
May 2004 to August 2004 - Part Time - 869.00
Sep 2004 to Dec 2004 - Full Time - $1385.50

Problem I'm having is that I'm not full time for all of 2004.. and there's 2 ways to calculate your tuition amount..

Anyways, I'm guessing I'll put in my total amount of Full Time Tuition plus the $450 a month that I'm enrolled, and then put in my total amount of part time tuition and $135 for each month I'm enrolled

1375.50 + 1385.50 + 3600 (8 months full time at 450) for Full Time
869.00 + 540.00 (the 4 months of part time at 135) for Part Time

Is that correct?

Yes that is correct.

Don't quote me on this and check with your accountant/tax specialist:

if you earn less that $8000 for the year, all these deductible will be unused or useless to you. You should pass this tuition deduction to your parents and save some taxes for them. And may be get them to pay a few bucks back to you.
