What kind of receiver do you need? Basic or 5.1 or.....?

What kind of reciever/system are you looking for? I've got a 15yr old kenwood system. Consists of an amp, standalone am/fm tuner, cd player and the best part -a cassette player! This is old school stuff - all manual adjustments (no remotes). Only Dolby is the noise reduction on the cassette player.
