I'm thinking about taking advantage of the warmer weather this week and hitting off a bucket of balls or two.

Anyone know which outdoor driving ranges will be open this week?

Four seasons should be open.

As well, I belive Fox Hollow has a special where you get breakfast and some range time for about $12.00

Anyone know of any around the NW to go knock off a few balls, or want to go with a few people from here?

Apparently Heather Glen opened up all 27 holes today, with the exception of the new island green hole.

Most city courses should be open mid-April.

I tried to do a search but I couldn't find out. I remember I heard on the radio them saying all 27 holes would be open with the exception of the new island green.

How many of them are there? Just been to Target Greens so far. Wanna try a different place.
Are most places $10 a bucket?

$10 is pretty much standard.
There are dozens of driving ranges, just depends what part of the city you're in.
Seeing as you go to Target Greens I'm assuming you're in the NW. Your options are Harvest Hills along Country Hills Blvd, Shaganappi Golf course, Beddington on Harvest Hills Blvd/Centre St just north of Beddington Trail.
Hamptons and Country Hills golf clubs are private so you can't even get on the range there.

In the NW they also have the Calgary Family Golf Centre which has a mini putt course and a driving range. That's usually where I go.

It's on Bearspaw Dam Road. Large bucket is $12

Does anyone know of a driving range that allows you to hit off of grass? Getting tired using the mats

The one in Harvest Hills allows you to hit off grass I think. I saw people there doing it a few weeks ago. It was too busy there, so I didn't try it.

Douglasdale and Buffalo Run. Don't know if they're open yet but both real grass.
I hate hitting of the mats. Every shot is perfect it seems. Grass is the only way to go to really work on your swing. Especially on your short irons.

Just saw a great special in the paper today. Kokanee springs course, $299 includes 2 nights hotel and 4, yes FOUR rounds, including cart!!!!! Have to book by April 11 and it can for anytime during the whole year.

It was in Tuesday's Calgary Sun. Slight misprint appearantly but still good.

Details are Here (http://www.kokaneesprings.com/golf-packages.html)

Package is called "Two-Four of Kokanee" and its now $327 per person. Right below it is the "pre-season" specials and it was $299, but you had to have booked by Feb 29. The paper accidentally reprinted the same package with the pre-season price. Might be able to bitch about the paper ad and get it at the old price...but still $327 for two nights and four rounds of golf WITH cart is a damn good deal, I say.

No I've never played there before. 6600 yds is plenty long enough track for me. I'm a beer golfer. I've heard its a challenging course though. Lots of "gauntlets" and fairways are surrounded by trees. Looks nice. Talked to a guy who works at Canyon Meadows Course and he says its a real nice track.
