The Story Behind the Car
I first saw this car sitting on jacks the year before I bought it. The car was absolutely mint with no rust at all when I inspected it. Sadly, Toyota deemed the car a customer's car waiting for repairs (engine rebuild) and not for sale at that time when I inquired about it. One year later I saw the car still sitting there, starting to show signs of surface rust from a year sitting on a lot adjacent to a busy road through a winter so I went to ask the sales manager. He called the owner who was the original owner; a dentist and celica enthusiast regarding the car. He had bought an IS300 during the downtime and told them he's willing to sell it, making me it's second owner. I had the engine rebuilt in late summer of 2003, I just managed to break in the engine before the first snowfall and I chose to garage the car through winters until I can save up enough for body work. The car was used as a daily commuter to work through spring/summer 2004 and garaged again for the fall/winter. The original plan for the car was a T3/T4 turbo upgrade along with a frontmount intercooler followed by bodywork. However I've decided that 4 months of work a year is insufficient to fund this project in reasonable time. The car is an excellent base for a new project or someone wanting to finish my planned project as I have practically all the major parts needed to carry it though. There are others of alltracs for sale, but many of them have over 4 previous owners, been in accidents, or poorly maintained. This car has never seen rough treatment (aside from the exposure to the salt as a result of the dealership's negligence) nor been in any accidents and is in better condition than the majority of the alltracs you see for sale. It does not burn oil nor have any leaks or grinds and always parked in the garage.
