The Story Behind the Car

I first saw this car sitting on jacks the year before I bought it. The car was absolutely mint with no rust at all when I inspected it. Sadly, Toyota deemed the car a customer's car waiting for repairs (engine rebuild) and not for sale at that time when I inquired about it. One year later I saw the car still sitting there, starting to show signs of surface rust from a year sitting on a lot adjacent to a busy road through a winter so I went to ask the sales manager. He called the owner who was the original owner; a dentist and celica enthusiast regarding the car. He had bought an IS300 during the downtime and told them he's willing to sell it, making me it's second owner. I had the engine rebuilt in late summer of 2003, I just managed to break in the engine before the first snowfall and I chose to garage the car through winters until I can save up enough for body work. The car was used as a daily commuter to work through spring/summer 2004 and garaged again for the fall/winter. The original plan for the car was a T3/T4 turbo upgrade along with a frontmount intercooler followed by bodywork. However I've decided that 4 months of work a year is insufficient to fund this project in reasonable time. The car is an excellent base for a new project or someone wanting to finish my planned project as I have practically all the major parts needed to carry it though. There are others of alltracs for sale, but many of them have over 4 previous owners, been in accidents, or poorly maintained. This car has never seen rough treatment (aside from the exposure to the salt as a result of the dealership's negligence) nor been in any accidents and is in better condition than the majority of the alltracs you see for sale. It does not burn oil nor have any leaks or grinds and always parked in the garage.

Come on you guys! This car is much more reliable than any Talon (I had one) and way faster than any Honda/Acura... especially in the snow. Granted, I might be a little biased, but you are not going to find a faster or more reliable car for that kind of money... espsecially with a rebuilt motor and clutch (same motor as the MR2 Turbo)... it will go forever and kick some ass in the process!

I just installed poly suspension bushings in my Alltrac and it handles better than my '94 bimmer!

Buy it, you will not regret it!

The drive train (tranny and diffs) in these Alltracs was way over-built. It can handle double the hp with no worries.

I'd be interested, that is if I hadn't just picked one up. Got mine for 2500 too, that guy really really didn't know what he could have got for this car. The only thing wrong is the heat!

Bump for a nice ride though, $6500 is about what you should expect especially for one so clean. :)

Bump for a 4th gen.

4th gens develop hairline cracks in the soldering in the heater control panel. I'll send you a pm on how to fix the heat on the one you just bought. I used to own a 4th gen with the same problem.

Link to the fix.

to fix the heat you just have to get the pins on the climate controler resoldered and it costs about 30$ and works good as new afterwards.
