It is a bad year to buy a winter beater and have the good one parked. I think i coulda drove the summer car all winter. Ah well i guess i have a car for next winter.

Man, I could have slicks, winter tires, low profiles, or any kind of tire on my car...wouldn't make a fuckin' difference. My car STILL slides all over the place and has no grip! I should just put my rims on anyway :tongue: LOL, but I won't, too lazy, and I'll probably end up scratchin' 'em or somethin'...not like they're already scratched. hehe

Alright, we've got about 2-4 inches of the white stuff outside now. The sanding truck is out.

Was that you driving on 14st NW tonight? I was cruising and saw a blue A4 or S4 ( I know you have S4) just blow by the slow moving cars.....got to love the AWD and snow tires!

We are having a "blizzard" here in edmonton.... good thing i got the seats out of my wreck yesterday and the t-tops back on and tarpped her.... at least what's left is a bit protected :(

hmm rage2: hows rwd + winter tires.. is it really possible to drive it without any majoy handling problems? ive never driven rwd in winter before so I would know.

You just get a lot of oversteer that's all. I don't like FWD or AWD cuz all you get is understeer, meaning you'll plow into a curb or something.

any vehicle can be made to under or over steer. I think it depends on the driver.

are you saying RWD is better than AWD in the winter, especially when there is heavy snow?

hehe with an ae86 as a "winter beater" most of my mileage has been done sideways...stay away from those curbs, control arms and tie rods are a pain to change

Most AWD cars have a FWD bias, which is something that I don't like. FWD cars are safe in the snow, but boring. I enjoy RWD cuz I can control the angle of the drift with the throttle.

welp the subaru awd has a 50/50 distrabution, ya its leans towards understeering but its up to the driver to overcome it. I think AWD is far superior than RWD as a whole. :clap:
