I have a video file that I cannot encode in tmpegenc or nero
Is there any program I can use to list out its properties so someone can tell me what codec or steps i'm missing? I read something about dvd2avi and d2v/r (can't remember) files.

As well, are there any programs that are better than others in encoding video files? I know that this is mainly processor and memory dependent (there's supposedly a formula), and i've tried nero, tmpeg, canopus virtualdub etc; they all seem to take forever for me haha.

thnx=)

vcdhelp.com should give you the info you need about encoding and what not

theres a program called G-Spot that gives you all the info about the file like codecs needed bitrate of video/audio format its in. Search for it on vcdhelp should be there
