This is for a friend of mine. Any one have experience or opinions on this? He was looking at 17" for the longest time and now thinks maybe 16"s are good enough? Currently he's got 15"s. He's set on 17"s as being the biggest, 18"s would look too weird he says.

There's a fair bit of $aving$ wheel-wise and tire-wise by going with 16"s but appearance counts a little bit too.

Any pics, links, or opinions welcome.

larger rims - better cornering ability, worse acceleration.

for my car, id never go any bigger than 15s...smaller rims are better for drifting anyway

"Too big" is what he said he meant by "weird".

He's not taking to the track but wants the best everyday performance for "enthusiastic" driving.
:dunno:

On a car with limited torque and power, bigger wheels do nothing but hurt performance. You don't need bigger wheels, but wider wheels with a lower profile tire would be better if he wants performance over looks. Jam the smallest, lightest, widest wheels under there that you can manage.
