So my car's all screwed and I can't sell it so I figure I'll attempt to fix it myself. My question is how easy is it to do struts? I was quoted over 175 a piece per strut plus labour at a shop, but I have found some that are much cheaper and probably better than what the mechanic would install.
My only concern is getting it done...is it as easy as a couple of bolts out and then back in? or is it quite complicated? I'm unfamiliar with suspension and its workings at this point, so I have no idea...and there's only one way to learn :nut:
Anyways, any help would be nice...thanks :)

It's very easy but it takes a while. Download a haynes manual and spend an afternoon.

Depends on what kind of car it is, but when I did my car, the shock/struts alone were just under a $100/each, plus new springs. I had a small problem with clearance in order to remove the original assembly. If I had known the trick before removing it, it would have only taken me 4 hours to do the whole car. Best bet is to shop around for the best prices on shocks.
