i read every word on that page and I can't see a catch to it? Oddly enough I was thinking about switching to TD, now there is incentive.:dunno:

TD does this all the time - what's the big deal? Why is everyone so skeptical? They've offered me things like Jigsaws, electronics, and a whole load of other stuff.

They hit you with service fees, make crazy interest on your savings, and throw a bone to the people who sign up...

yah they were giving away free mp3 cd players before

i guess this is just something to get them to get some more customers...but moving your whole cheqings account is pretty big. if it was just opening a new account with them wouldnt be too bad.

even tho im with TD...this doesnt seem like a simple 2 step process where you sign up(in this case switch over) and get your shuffle.

I won't do it.

Now if they give me an Ipod Photo 40GB, I will seriously consider it.

well i think all in all it's just a frustration factor that you can lose out on
I asked a TD rep and this is what they informed me of:
1) you must transfer all balances to TD and close your current account (at whichever bank)
2) you must transfer all associations with the previous account (like direct deposit etc.)
3) a representative will phone you to confirm the information and supposedly it takes a long time to verify and to get your ipod shuffle

so if all this frustration is worth $150 dollars and go for it; i think it's worth it since there isn't much association w/ my account w/ anything. another strategy might be to open a new account else where w/ couple hundred bucks in it and transfer that one. TD is decent for its services, i just think their service charges are a bit high.

I don't mind TD, better than my previous experiences at scotia, and CU.....but yeah, where's my free shit?? I've been with them for a long time, and nothing....

Wow...too much hassle for me to switch everything from my existing BMO to TD...just for an iPod mini...no way.

If it were an Ipod Mini i'd be all over it. It's the ipod shuffle.

Maybe I'll set up another chequing account at scotia, deposit 20 bucks in the account and transfer that over haha

i just double checked and the rep said i must use my MAIN chequing account to transfer, so i guess the catch is still the frustration thing, remembering all the associations w/ the previous account

but other than that it's a gd deal

Its not that bad, im switching. They do all the work closing the old accounts, so let them do it. They're open till 8 weeknights, which i think is awesome. No more Royal closed at 430 for me.
