View Full Version : found an 88 corolla gts for cheap

i found someone selling an 88 corolla gts for cheap.I havent had a chance to go look at the car yet but they said it doesnt have any rust which is good. Problem is, the engine dropped a rod.

I am considering buying it but have no prior experience with toyota and have no idea where to find a replacement engine?

More importantly, what is a replacement engine worth?

Anyone have any ideas.

BTW, they are asking 500 bucks but i think i can get it for half of that. Its white with red interior.

from what i have been able to gather from online info, the 88 and up style are front wheel drive.

89 and up Rolla's use the AE92 chassis, which is FWD and shared with the Sedan and Wagon...
