IMO the WRX STI would be a safe bet. Your from winnipeg and winters are shit there, AWD in winter is nice.

What's the purpose of this business vehicle?

Is he buying out right or leasing? Most company leasing for better write off than owning. And I don't think you can get STi on a lease (or a good deal lease anyway).

id like to say sti, but if youre talking about speed, the svt cobra takes the cake in all fairness. sti would be a close second, then probably the 350z.

sti has other advantages such as AWD of course, depends whats important to you :)

and yes you can lease an sti just as easily as any other subaru.

I saw a comparison between a cobra and sti on tv and the STI took the cobra in acceleration...although the cobra had a higher mph....AWD owns you....but sucks for drifting....and who wants a brocket rocket anyway..

What kind of business is your friend running? We own a Metal Production company and our clients are Interior designers and Architects. We have to look representable when driving up for meetings. So our company has BMW's and MB's.

I don't know when was the last time speed really mattered for a company car? :dunno:

most company cars need to be 4 doors. if that is the case, the Infiniti G35 Sedan is the car you want.

A WRX STi for a company car..

it would be nice but if the compnay is going to be insuring the car, its not gonna happen.

most Insurance companies will not insure the STi as a company car because it is a restricted veichle (interms of Insurance) i had my insurance of350 a month cancelled because they Say i drive a race car im now stuck to pay 700ish a month for the same car:eek: granted i have a not so spotless record

but yeah best bang for the buck defenitly I would say STi, be ready to pay out your ass for gas if its gonna be your daily driver

Cobras are fine for mid-upper 12s stock at reasonable elevations of course.

I personally would say SRT8 if that were an option.

50 out the door as well is a different scenario compared to a sticker of 50 depending on how much wiggle room you have (especially being that PST is an issue).

do you have to spend every penny of the 50k? Perhaps something a little more reasonably priced may not be the worst idea for you budget wise (insurance & gas)..

Just a thought.

G35 x sedan is pretty good i thnk

VIP_style
03-17-2005, 01:38 PM
I would go with the G35X or G35 coupe personally, both are good looking cars built with high quality standards- and both pull quite hard- and insurance will be alot cheaper for a G35X than any STI or Cobra!!!

googe
03-17-2005, 05:50 PM
G35x only comes in auto/sedan :thumbsdow

and the G35 6MT definitely has nothing on an STI or a cobra in terms of performance no matter which way you spin it :) but it is much more refined. not an optimal choice if youre going for pure performance, otherwise its a pretty good deal.

benyl

Insurance on an STi is a little more than most cars, but it isn't unreasonable. It is cheaper than an S4, M3, or any other car in that league.

I would be careful with having the car in my name for the company. If the company folds, or fires you, YOU are stuck with the payment. As nice as your boss is, he is protecting his ass. Just because he is a friend, doesn't mean he won't fire you.

I have driven my STi all winter. Why wouldn't you. Why would you put a car in the garage to wither away all winter. Cars are meant to be driven.

I test drove the 350Z before buying the STi. It felt like it was wheezing. It wasn't a brand new one either. It was a properly broken in one with 11,000km.

Don't get me wrong, it had power, but it just wasn't right.

Besides that, there is no space in the car. You would be lucky to get a set of golf clubs in the back.
