Hey guys,

I was looking for a new car and think I found the one I like. I've made an offer that has been accepted, and the car is going into the shop for an inspection tomorow. The car is very mint. It has 130km and has barely a rock chip. I had a bodyman check it out and he says it has a very high quality repaint, it is straight and has all orginal body panels (VIN's, everything lines up, no collision damage).

I went to the registries to do a background check and had a bit of a suprise. It seems like it has had many owners. I know it was purchased in Victoria (stamped manual), and sometime after it went to Alberta. The registries shown it registered as follows:

1995 - Rocky Mountain House
1996 - Rocky Mountain House
1997 - Calgary
2001 - Calgary
2002 - Edmonton
2003 - Edmonton

So it seems we're looking at at least 5 previous owners, maybe even 7! That's a lot. My question to you guys is, does anybody know the car and its history? Is there something wrong with that I should know about?

The car is super clean, I took it for a long drive, and it's really nice, so ultimately I'll get it if the inspection works out... unless some one screams at me saying not to buy it!

BTW, mod list

Racing Dynamics:
- front bumper
- rear bumper
- 17" wheels
- front and rear strut bars
- front and rear roll bars
- pedals

-Conforti Intake
-Turner Motorsports Chip
-Magnaflow exhaust
-Short shifter
-FK headlights
-clear corners
-Euro tail lights
-OEM M3 rear wing
-Momo wheel
-Momo shift nob

****Will trade the steering wheel for any OEM E36 M wheel or possibly a non M wheel if nothing comes up****

Do you know why the car needed repaint after such a short period of time?

It does look like an awesome find. Run the VIN and find out what the inspection says. It looks super clean from the pics though...

Muahaha... I got it :D

The inspection came up with few problems (RSM, ball joints, etc..) but we dropped my initial offer accordingly. The car is at the shop getting the work done and all fluids changed, etc.

The mechanic said the car was so clean on the bottom that he doesn't think it has been driven in the winter. It is very clean.

Congrats on the car. If you're looking for an aftermarket wheel with an airbag, check out Raid HP.

The guy i got it from is probably pushing 30.

I'll take some better pics once I get it back. These pics don't really do it justice.
