Ok well I know this site is mainly an Import one... and I know domestics don’t get too much respect but I don’t mind... this is only my first car as I am still 17years old... and there is plenty of time to get different cars.
Well here is my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire with the following upgrades. Let me know what you think... If you just down right hate it that’s fine, just don’t post saying how much you hate it because its a "sunfire" because if your just going to do that all I have to say to you is grow up...I mean i dont mind if you say you dont like the wing or the hood or somthing like that
Engine:
-62mm throttle body
-RK sport 4-2-1 header
-Custom 2.5" exhaust
-GM supercharger runing 6psi

Suspension/Wheels:
-Koni Sport Shocks (Yellows)
-Ground Control Coilovers
-Tenzo Mean 6 17inch rims (gun metal)
-Kumho 225/45/17 rubber

Body/Apperence:
-RK sport Body kit
-RK sport ram air hood

The rims on the car in the picture are only my winter rims and tires. Also it is on Ground Control Coilovers and set to the highest positions for winter, come summer time the bigger rims go on and she gets lowerd

ahah yea... you have to put it down to like stage 1 or stock ahah i will only be around 195-200hp mean while you will be at like 290hp i think i would get a new ass hole riped in me if you had it at stage 2.

I think it looks sweet. Good job.

I say, get rid of the stampede pontiac stickers, shave the sunfire emblems, tint the windows, get bigger rims... paint the door handles (if they arnt already blue -mine came in black on a silver car, and I had to paint!).. umm.. dont drive around on the streets with the neons on.

also, if you got extra cash, I know someone that got the back tail light piece (the center thing that says pontiac) painted the same color as his car, and it looks sweet (especially on darker vehicles, as it leaves just your tail lights in the back).. maybe some recaros or something.. and you should be set!

nonetheless.. sweet.

I think stampede pontiac sold a bunch of "scorpions" a few years ago that had that same body kit.. it was just a regular sunfire with a body kit. So anything to distinguish yourself, and not make it look like the dealer suped it up for you might be in your interest perhaps.

it did come dealer suped. aha. he does have bigger rims. those are his winters.

josh: its not laying down 290 not even close. id say something like 270 er so. cuz of my cat in my downpipe its restricting some power there. and my piping in my exhaust isnt exactly straight through. soo yea im losing power in all sorts of places. mebes you should post pics of your other cars too :devil: and them time slips. hehe ^_^

nope, there is a guy who copied my car exactly so it was probably him... only difference is i am only 1 of 2 supercharged 2.4L Jbodys in alberta. :P i do like playing with CRX's but there are the ones i know i would get my ass handed to me from :)

izzoblitzo - Thank you :D. I have bigger rims alreay, the ones in the picture are only my winter rims... the stampede stickers are comen off here soon too (wasnt high on my to do list) as i am more for speed then looks, and yes stampede did sell one of each colour of these cars.. my buddy has the black one. As for seats... i am getting ones out of a 2003 RSX type S i believe they are recaro... and my windows will get tinted as soon as i recover from droping $4000 into my engine two weeks ago.

cman - thank you... if the car had duel exhaust then it was my buddy... i just have the single but we do both live in the n.w and i know what you mean at night time it is hard to tell if its me or my buddy. Now if your ever driving beside me or him just roll down the window and listen for the whine of the supercharger :D

:P yea.. but you got to realize that it wasnt stock... it was running 400rwhp at the time... and your WRX still hawls ass! there for i wont be mad when i loose to you in my car :P i just want to see if i can take you off the line since i have no lag in power... but then you got the AWD DAMN IT!

props for the SC... what kind of fuel management do you run with that thing? did the supercharger come as a kit including or just the charger itself??

yea the only thing i dont ilke about your car is that gross wing, i know it came with it, but its a bit to big for my taste.

hey thank you all for the comments... yea i know the wing isnt the best i do agree... but it kind of grows on ya. maybe one day ill do somthing with it. and yea

bmeier - well this kit was an amazing one. it came right from GM... and it came with all new 310cc injectors and also GM made a program for the computer that controls all the fuel (so basically the kit is set up like it came with the car stock) all i had to do after i put the kit on my self i had it towed down to stampede pontiac and they reflashed the computer. And the reflash came with the price of the kit so the final cost was just under $3000

BubbaSTi - Thank you.. do you have the 2.4L engine in your Grand Am? or is it the V6? As for how i got all the money for it.. The Supercharger was a grade 12 grad present (granted i kept my marks really good) so i worked my ass off and kept my grades high and then my parents said i could order it... I do have a job as well and i do try and pay my parents as much as i can each month though. ahah but i think it was more my dad wanted my car to have power too... as if you look up a few posts and see the black car (the buick Gnx) that was the first car i learned to drive and it was pushing like 450rwhp (its alot more now) and then i learned how to drive a standerd transmission car on his 02 trans am and it dynoed at 398rwhp... then i had to go down to my sunfire with the 2.4L engine putting out only 130hp at the wheels stock (150hp at the crank) and he said it needs more power since the day we got it and so he got the supercharger for me.

Chester - :D thank you... i know not every one likes the sunfire, which i dont mind, but i am happy when people like your self respect the time, money and effort i have put into it (every thing i have on it, i have installed on my own, including the supercharger)
ahaha and Jarett i want a ride in your car too... ill take you out in the trans am if i can :dunno: :D

whoa looks like there's more competition in the NW. Nice car though, at 17 and you have a supercharger, you should be proud of that. Most high school ricers only have a front bumper and some rims. But nice car I do like it and normally I hate jspec's.

And i too hated jbodies at one time but it has grown on me now... where abouts in the N.W are you Lo)2enz0?
ahah i like having the sunfire even more so when you get to see the looks on some peoples faces when they go to race me and right off the line they hear the loud whine of the supercharger then at the next set of lights their face is like :eek: "what just happend.. i got beat by a sunfire" and then this is me :rofl: ... granted i know i am not the fastest car out there, but there will always be some one faster then you.

and yea i have put in alot of work on it... about 8-10hours to put in the supercharger... but once all the parts were off i cleaned out all the spots i couldnt reach once the supercharger was back on.

My winter car is a white 2003 4 door Golf, but this week hopefully I will be insuring my ca18det (t28 ball bearing) powered silfourty. You might have seen it last year it is dark blue and I only had the aftermarket front bumper on and now I have the full kit. I know Jarrett spotted occasionally.

Nice car man, you where at the red deer dyno run in september right? If you ever decide to take it to another lvl you should look into swapping a 90-94 HO quad 4 head onto it, Mantapart is gettgin 300WHP out of there twin cam/ quad 4 supercharged combos.

I always wondered does the supercharged twin cam have 200 WHP or flywheel.

4CylFiero - Yep that was me, i got alot more changes from that day though... and stock the GM supercharger puts you up too 190whp at sea level... so im around 175-180whp with just it... but i have alot more parts on... and some one in edmonton with all the same stuff at 6psi dynoed at 202whp... i will be running 10psi, with alcohol injection.

4CylFiero - Yea i was thinking about getting that engine... and just ripping it all apart cleaning it all up, new gaskets and every thing to make the engine all new again and putting on the supercharger and then putting it in... but i dont know now that i have gotten all these parts for my 2.4L

The original hole was 2inches... on the RK sport header each hole is just over 2inches

ahah yea that helps alot too... he puts huge amounts of $$ into his cars ... i only wish i could spend the $8200 on rims and tires and what not like he has.

Very nice header, at least they intergrated that little flex joint, so it doesn't snap off.

I thought about going with a twin cam back in the day aswell, considering it is a farely reliable engine compared to mine. I would have mine rebuilt hopefully in july, I'd love to see what yours cars capable of when it all said and done. Maybe another dyno meet would be good.

Yea for sure another dyno meet... i wouldnt mind seeing your car again too... As for how well it runs... before i had the header in, when my car was all stock except the supercharger running 4.5psi of boost and a few people in my car and jaretts wrx i kept up to him untill about 130kph when i shifted into 5th (damn 5th gear doesnt pull at all) Granted he had 1 more person in his car, plus his subs and such that i dont have but i think i surprised him as much as i surpised my self... i was thinking i would get my ass handed to me. ( and by keeping up i mean my front bumper was around his back doors/rear bumper) and he was still pulling slowly on me the hole time just not much until the 5th gear for me

Also Jarett we have to race again :D this time with not so many people in our cars... race city for sure this summer :D... i am guessing i will loose, but i dont mind loosing to your wrx
